Hello reanicah.
I am sweet 16 years old girl, not really give hand in the kitchen. But my mom not rarely using cooking/edible oil on preparing meals. She usually used microwave oven to make sure she doesn't use any oil to prevent disease.
HAPPY LUCKY.

Oil is essential to make your food tasty but too much oil can be yucky.

In south India, most preparations are with less oil compared to North India where oil is one of the main ingredients of food preparation. It is better to avoid using oil in food preparation, because by doing so one can avoid or postpone the cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes. Also non-oil food consumption will keep a person active all the time.

Rarely, only if the recipe calls for it or if I'm deep frying. Most of the time I just use PAM or cooking sprays. I love those things since it doesn't make the food oily. Besides, most meats have enough fat and oil in it on its own. My grandmother never drained the oil in her food and it always made my stomach hurt. Then she'd tell me to eat more and then complain about why I was gaining weight...anyway...I don't really like oily food.
