Hi Terry, okay without reading other responses and looking this up on the internet I asked my hubby..He says they do have doors, they are just slid open and locked in that position..That is why it looks like they don't have doors...He says this to do transports or gunships, depending on what you are looking at in the old hewy's...Every helicopter (according to my hubby) has doors...I always thought they had doors too, but in the movies you don't always see them...

Have you ever flied on one? I haven't!

Hi Terry,
What kind of helicopter was this? I have been on one that had a door. I dont think I would have gotten on if it didnt! While on vacation when I was younger me and my dad took a ride when we were in Tennessee, it was so cool!! I like flying, Im glad Im not scared to do it.

Well I guess I have seen them without doors Terry. Like rescue or military ones. I think in those cases, the door might get in the way or something.
Yeah it was glass most of the way around the copter and I could see all over around me. I was so excited!! Especially over Tennessee, it was beautiful.

I believe only military helicopters don't have doors on them, for obvious reasons, but common civilian ones do, or else it's cold and windy and uncomfortable in there, isn't it?
I'll have to look for helicopter pictures now and check, LOL!

i think you're referring to those military helicopters, the huwey or hewey (im not quite sure with the spelling). I already ride when a friend from the Air Force invited us. But those helicopters used to transfer hospital patients and those used by police patrolling traffics...
