What can i do for my language-learning wish  

the key in learning English or any language for that matter is to practice and practice and keep on practicing. Do not worry if your friends appeared confused or even might laugh at you but if you can take all that, you would be able to master English. You can also listen to more radio broadcasts in English and watch movies and even cartoons. You can also get some comic English comics and read them. These are some of the ways that i can share with you and these are based on my own experiences. All the best to you.

When I entered the university my English was very poor, not only in oral English but also in vocabulary. So when I spoke in public, I always felt very nervous and made a lot of mistakes in a speech. So it was very hard for my classmates caught what I had said, but I kept on practising and at last I made it.

In your case, you are not confident about yourself. You should think that there is no one can do better than you at first, then giving your speech.

Maybe the best way for you to improve your pronunciation and listening is reading your textbook, record your reading, then listen to it,you can find out what is the problem. After you find it, you can find an effective way to change it, at last you can read your text beautifully and understand a speech well.

Practice makes perfect. Learning English well will take you a lot of time away. So be patient, you will make a progress day by day.

i think if you are really interested to be fluent in english you have to keep talking in english. my lot is a great way to polish and train yourself to be good in english. i am not really good in englsh too but i am taking this site as a way to practice and to learn english more. and hopefully i will be fluent in my english grammar and i wil be able to express better in english and hopefully i will really sound like english speaking person.

Well being a member here in mylot is a good start. It's a good place for you to practice. I don't think your English is so bad, by the way. You have done a pretty good job with this discussion. But practice makes perfect. So don't give up. Just keep practicing by posting discussions and responses. You'll also find that your spelling and typing skills will also improve greatly. And with that will come the grammer. Give it time and spend a lot of time here. It really will help you.

I feel for you, my friend! because after ten years' english learning, I find it difficult to communicate with foreigners fluently,besides, as for some chinese idioms i really have no idea how to translate them. and when foreigners ask me sth about chinese culture, i feel how clumsy i am, i couldn't get the correct tranlation or can't express clearly,thus causing lots of misunderstandings.
But there is no better method than keeping learning, not only learning how to overcome our fear when we give a speech or discussion, but also how to grasp the basic grammar and western culture.
learning knowledge is difficult, while learning a foreign language is more of a challenge.

I think one of your responces already said this but it's true . Just practice , the more the better . Being born in the USA the language is easy to me but they say it's actually the hardest to learn of them all because we have so many words that have duel meanings. Some are spelled differently but then pronounced the same . It can be confusing.

Nothing is impossible if you have the strong intention to do it.My native language is not English,too.From 5 years ago,I get up 6:00 each morning to speak some English.It really make sence.

I faced the same problem as yours,indeed my written English is poor too.It is observed that my English is
neither rhyme nor reason.But I found a good way to practise your spoken English and listening .It is dictation that improves your pronunciation,vocabulary,language sense andlistening when you recite loudly follow tepe or CD etc.after dictating entire essay.Best wishes,Let,s make great efforts

Well, as they say practice makes perfect. If you are already doing this, then practice harder. Try reading English materials. You'll be able to learn a lot from them. You can even improve your sentences. And also, try watching English movies, you can improve your pronunciation by watching English movies. Try to imitate the character's dialogue, it would help you learn on how to pronounce some words correctly and of course, on how to construct simple and complex sentences. And if you don't know the meaning of a certain word, try to look for the meaning of it in the dictionary. You have to understand the words and how they would be used in a sentence, in that way, you'll be able to learn when and how you'll gonna need a certain word in your sentence. Goog luck!
