Are video games the reason why you listen to Jpop now? | | I first heard Jpop from games like DDR and Kingdom Hearts and it involved my interest in the music. But did anyone like grow up with it or buy albums on a guess?

I was totally hooked, and I spent hours trying to find MIDI files of the song online. Back in those days, it was hard to find MP3's, so I had to make do with those. I did eventually discover MP3's, and from there I ended up with more of Two-Mix's songs like "Love Revolution," "Last Impression," "White Reflection," and "Just Communication." They were actually hosted on a site maintained by a company that imported Japanese CD's, so I ended up buying most of Two-Mix's albums from them. Then I discovered the Vivamusic Jpop station through Windows Media Player, and that introduced me to a few more artists, like Aikawa Nanase and Ayumi Hamasaki. From there, I just got kind of carried away, and file sharing software like WinMX and Limewire helped things along. I did usually end up buying the albums, but it worked well for trying out new things. Now, I tend to get my fix through Imeem or Japan-a-Radio, since those are both free and I don't have to download anything to listen to songs.
