I'm not to fond of the English saddle, and like to use the western saddle a lot more. I like the extra horn to drape ropes over if I'm leading some other animal.
I do prefer the western saddle as well, even though I was taught to ride in English saddles and haven't got a lot of experience riding in Western saddles. I just find the them more comfortable and safer when riding in terrain. When I get my own horse I'll definately be using a western saddle.
All of my riding is done western style. I've done numerous competitions in western riding. A few people I know do the English style of riding and I've tried it, but I just could not get into it.
