I wish to tell you all thanks for making this much easier for me to handle.
We laid Jackie to rest on Novemebr 25, 2007. I wanted to scan her picture of her in her uniform but somehow someone took away the programme from me.
She was a warden at the Fort Augusto women's prison here in Jamcia, for five years. She was a brilliant girl who worked very hard to make life for herself and her two boys. She was buried by the State and she even got 21 guns salute! i felt proud of her achievements in such a short time but missed her greatly because of who she left behind.
I am happy that no longer is she in pain and is free from all the cares of this world. She also made provision for her children so even in death she is being herself - Jackie the achiever.
Her life has touched many and I was surprised to see the amoutn of people who turned up for her day to be laid to rest.
The most painful part for me was when she was laid in the grave and her last child cried "Mummy, Muummy! I want mummy!" I began to cry and had to leave the graveside before everythign was completed. I could not bear to hear those cry of anguish and pain, firght and all you could imagine. I still cry now and again but not as much as before. The elder son bore up quite well but I believe it was because he never wanted anyone to see him crying.
May her soul rest in peace!
Thank you all for your words of comfort and chaeer. It meant a whole lot to me and words can never express the feeling of warmth I felt having you all supporting me. Thank you all again and God bless!
