When I quit cold turkey, I felt aches and pains all through my body that weren't there before ( or I had not noticed them before). I talked to a CNP and she told me that our bodies get addicted to the feel good drugs that cigarettes are laced with. You are having withdrawal symptoms. Aches and pains and dehydration. Drink alot of juices and gatorades and water and keep active. That will get the poisons out of your system, and no more pains. On the other hand if its REAL pain, talk to your doctor. You may have withdrawed too quick!! Good Luck!!

Hi welcome to mylot, it may differ from person to person, for some mild headache may be one of them. Want to hear some thing funny, here it is, I know a friend, he was a heavy smoker. We were working as professor in the same college in 1980, computers were new to us then. One day he started computing how much he had spent in cigerettes from 1968 till 1980, see friend, the result was enough to kick his habit. Did you enjoy this? Keep posting.

Yes it is just possible that you would fee the headache just after sudden stop of smoking. But you should mentally prepare for it and you should have will power to face this problem. Don’t worry about your head pain. If you have will power then you may recover this temporary change. You should start to chew the chewing gum. This will help you to keep your self permanently stop the smoking habit. Smoking is not good for health. It is injurious. So you should face the head pain it will cost you good health in your future.

Let me first tell something what is in the tobacco/cigarette that makes addictive to us, it is the nicotine and I think people who smoke knew what nicotine is. Like other addictive drugs it produces pleasant feelings to us that makes want us to smoke more, it also act as a depressant that interfere the flow of information in our nerve cells.

And then when people suddenly stop smoking, the lack of nicotine in our system leads to react both physical and mental aspect. Physically our body reacts to the absence of nicotine while mentally smaoker faced with giving up the a habit that triggers for a major change in behavior.

Here are the side effect if a person quit smoking.
Dizziness, headaches, no presence of mind, anxiety, depression, frustrated, impatience, irritable, tiredness, sleep disturbances, etc.
