At my aunts while doing my laundry we made some Christmas cookies. It was a cold and rainy day perfect for making cookies. We made chocolate chips sugar cookies and some oatmeal raisin cookies. And of course I had to taste them all for approval. They passed!LOL I had alot of fun making them and she gave some to take home. I think its alot more fun when you make cookies with another person. Are you going to make some Christmas cookies? And what kind?

Hi Terry!
Me and my Sis were on the phone last night talking about getting together for a weekend of baking and showing me how to crochet a granny square. LOL I want to crochet a afghan so badly, but I only know the single stitch. She tried to tell me, but I think I would learn better if she showed me. She is so talented when it comes to crafts and baking.
I bet we would make some chocolate chip cookies and these mini pecan pies she makes. They are just the right size to plop in our mouth with a crust that has creme cheese in them. They are to die for!
Not sure we will get around to doing this before Christmas her car is on the brink right now, and I have no way to her. LOL I have some Christmas cookie cutters and I was thinking of making some sugar cookies, so I guess I just might do that in the next few weeks.

You know how to Granny stitch? I'm jealous now! LOL
I was thinking maybe I could find a step by step tutorial online or something. She made me an afghan for Christmas one year and I love it. She just used all her left over yarn and its all different colors. It's done in granny stitch. I told her if I couldn't manage it, I would tell her and she could start a bigger one for me at the first of the year, she might have it done by Christmas of next year! LOL I want atleast a queen size one. Asking too much? Haha

Oooh, oooh, they sound sooooo yummy!..mmmmmm, I can just taste them, mmmm.
I might, if I have time, go to my daughters and bake some cookies...between our schedules, it's really hard for us all to have the same day off, especially through the Christmas season. But we'll try.
I'm a terrible baker, but somehow my two daughters are little gourmet cooks and excellent bakers, haha...don't know where they got it from cause it sure wasn't from me.
I hope I get to go anyway cause it's just fun and I get to spend time with them, they're so silly and all we do is laugh........what more can you ask for.

I will just make shortbread this year. There are just two of us, and unless we go shopping at Safeway, I will not be able to make the Bride's cookies or the almond squares that I made for a number of years. I did try Spitz cookies, and I did make gingerbread men, but I might do them next year since my granddaughter is only six months old and is just starting to teeth. Besides my decorating skills are crap. I can never get the hang of keeping the tip on the icing bags. They always fall off.

Hi Terry,
Every year I bake up a storm around the holidays! I look forward to doing that with my daughter in a few years as she's only 1 1/2 right now. Last year I made Holiday Rice Krispie Squares, Shortbread, Ginger Bread Men, Rocky Road Squares, and some chocolate chip cookies cut out into holiday shapes.
Luv & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

I can't wait to try the Pilsbury ginger bread either! A lot less mess and not have to bother with molasses!

It is fun baking with others. In the past, I've baked with friends and we all share. This year my mom made a ton of cookies near the beginning of December, gave me way too many, and I ate way too many. Yesterday, I helped her make Pizza Fritte and another fried pastry. It was fun and she said it was the best gift I could have given her.

I am thinking of making some cookies in this christmas but there are some problems.
I have micro wave and an oven too..!!
But no such perfect plate to make cookies on..!
I will trying making cookies for the first time.
I don't know what things you actually need while making cookies.I mean the appliances here.
Do they need a special tray?
Or you just need a plain metal plate for ovens?
How can one make cookies in a microwave?
DO you need special containers to make cookies in a micro wave ?
I have all the recipies but appliances!!
Can you tell the easiest way to make cookies?
thankyou.

I love making Christmas cookies. Since my son was a little boy, I would make sugar cookies and he would decorate them. He always looks forward to doing it. I also make melt in your mouth butter cookies, and they do melt in your mouth. A couple of weeks ago, I made homemade sugar cookies with my granddaughters..ages 2 & 7. We made cookies from tracing their hands, then frosted them. They had so much fun.:)

Though I have not make xmas cookies for there is no condition for me students away from home,i have make pancakes with my mom. That is funny for me too. When i was child, cause there was no more hand to make pancakes for daily life,I helped mom to do and i baked pancakes and mom prepared for baking.several years passed,I cannot forget that.Once i come to think of it, i will smile and feel mom's warmness.
