Steer Clear of Guys Surnamed Peterson!

What's in a name? Maybe absolutely nothing, and since with over 100,000 members on myLot the odds are there's at least one guy with the last name of Peterson here and I apologize if this is offensive to you. Heck, maybe you're not even a lying, conniving philanderer...lol...OMG, I'm really just kidding! But, think about this coincidence, which it obviously has to be; first there was Scott and Lacey Peterson, now there's Drew and Stacey Peterson - the wives' names even rhyme, how creepy is that? Plus, on an MSNBC documentary rerun late last night there was another suspious death of a wife married to a - you guessed it - Peterson. Has anyone else thought about how odd this was and has anyone ever come across something similar, maybe another surname that seemed to be so "unlucky" to have?

I would steer clear of guys if the last name was Hitler, but I cannot see how Peterson is very dangerous. I mean you are telling everyone here who is unmarried to not take up with anyone with that last name, therefore ensuring, if they took you up on it, the elimination of the Peterson blood line and you know what happens when that occurs, our genetic pool is decreased. I think it is because Peterson is up there with majority last names like Jones, Smith, James, Johnson (oh you did here about the Johnson flood, didn't you?)

I didn't know this had anything to do with superstition. You're right, of course, it's just a silly coincidence and I knew that when I started this silly discussion, which is just what it was meant to be - a silly discussion. I'm sorry to have offended anyone, I was just goofing off a bit.

I was just telling my mom the same thing the other day. It's really odd that they have the same last name. Even though Stacey's husband hasn't been arrested yet, I think he had something to do with her disappearance. Most women don't just walk out on their kids (some do, but it's not common). I just hope that her family can find some answers soon.

Actually, I think that I first heard about this case from you or someone else on Mylot posting about it and I thought that it was speaking of the old case of Scott and Lacy. I don't watch the news at all. So, when I hear about something, it is because I simply happened up on it. When I first read about it, I realized that there were some serious similairities.

Geesh, first of all, I have to ask, what the heck is wrong with people?? Why is everyone getting so worked up over this conversation??
Okay but now to the topic at hand, I do agree with you, there is such an eerie coincidence to these names. I even had this conversation with a girlfriend of mine, just the other day on the phone. I think the real kicker is the fact that the names of the wives sound alike.
I have not heard anything about the third case you mentioned, but if you hear anymore about it, please do share with us.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day/night.

I had to think for a long long time of the first name of the Peterson I had as my first boyfriend. His name was Kerry and he was sweet. He taught me how to kiss and he was a great kisser! He was quiet and I'm boisterous.
I should have stuck with him rather than dumping him for the jerky guy I went with next. Live and learn! I did date another Kerry, later, too...so perhaps it's that name I have a vibe with?
And since I'm a dorky trivia nut there was a Paul Peterson on the Donna Reed Show. He was a cutie.
I admit I did stare closely when this Drew Peterson creep popped up and was relieved that it wasn't my sweet former B/F. That's when I tried to recall his first name (I can still see his face as clear as ever in my mind) and it took literally days and days.
Wherever you are, Kerry Peterson, I hope life is treating you great and I'm sorry for dumping you and I'm sorry for suspecting you could be a creep like either of these creeps Annie is posting about.
