Hello Raydene....thank you for sharing this information. I love hearing about individuals who make a difference. I have a great story to tell as well. In Bangalore, where i live, we have an old and poor lady who cares for about 10,000 trees just by herself. Nobody knew about this until some newspapers got out the story. She is illiterate too poor and now a widow. She and her husband when alive did not have children so they started planting trees on the highway and started caring for them. If i find more information on her i will start a blog on her if its not available yet. She is quite an inspiration :)

Hi raydene! I am glad you shared this. I never knew her until now. I am glad that she was recognized for her efforts and been awarded with such a prestigious Nobel Peace Prize! I do think that there should be more and more people like her who are genuinely concerned about the environment and the people through peaceful means yet her messages and works are strongly advocated all around Kenya and of the world. I salute and admire people like her. Take care and have a nice day. :)
