In ancient days, the m en used to be very chivalrious and treat women like procelain. In todays world where women are being given equal status in life, does men still feel chivalrious. Would they offer their seat in a train or bus, come to her help if need be. Does the old charm still exist ?

Pfft, women REQUIRE chivalry and call it themselves being "traditional" for demanding it. At the same time these same women call themselves "modern" and want to take the world by storm (nothing wrong with this part). Oh and if any guy called for a woman to really be "traditional" his head will roll across the floor thanks to her (and society at large).
Besides this plenty of men are still chivalrous. They hold doors, they open car doors, they shield women from rain, etc. The best part is, not many appreciate it, take note, and plenty don't care. Others think they are entitled to the treatment for just existing... -_-

Thanks Kety for all your support, there are plenty of times I think (and even seem) mechanical especially in thinking.
Lecan don't worry I never mean all women and there are some nice ones out there. One's responding to this discussion! Plus your friends sound pretty sweet to me too!

Actually, in ancient days women had almost no rights. While it's true that the higher-class ladies were treated with "chivalry", any woman of a lower class risked being mistreated horribly. So this whole idea of chivalry as "all women being treated well" is horribly inaccurate.
I'll take having actual rights and freedoms over chivalry anyday. And any man who treated me like porcelain could never satisfy me in bed. *laughs*

Hi ketybhagat,
Even in olden days there were few men who gave equal respect to ladies. The number of men has increased now in this 21st century. But, even now there are men who don't respect women. They are least in numbers and this is not to be taken as a Chivalry.
Good Luck.

well i think in most of the countries men still chivalrious.the male chavinism cannot go from them.its true that there are many gentlemen who offer theeir seats to ladies in train or bus.however one cannot ignore the fact that there are many men who illtreat their wives or daughter or mother.it will still take hell lot of time when women can stand beside men.

Where men dont respect their women folk and illtreat them, chavenism if far far away. It comes first with respect for women folk, family and outsiders. However, I have seen people who do offer seats to other females, but are swines at home. How does one understand such men.
