By Gary Smith Journalist - South Africa An analysis of the biased way in which Iran is portrayed in the general media provokes a certain feeling of ironic dismay. Mainstream Western media has tended to promote the idea of Iran as pivotal to the alleged “axis of evil”. A perception has been created in the United States in particular that Iran is some monstrous state that is dictatorially administered and an unquestioned platform for the recruitment and proliferation of terrorism. These views and pronouncements about Iran in the Western media have in fact created a myopic view of the reality and thus engendered a false mystique of threat and incipient evil. Yet, in the first instance, there is an element of hypocrisy in this view of Iran as the aggressor and proponent of evil. Labeling Iran in the media as the “enemy” has caused a great amount of suffering in that country over the years, a fact that is barely reported in the mainstream Western media. The truth is that this country has a long yet less publicized history of hostile opposition from Western adversaries. An analysis of the media presentation of events surrounding Iran smacks more of propaganda than of genuine unbiased reportage.

It is very easy to deny all the charges... "I am not guilty!" Just about every guilty person in this world has tried to plead their innocence until they were proven guilty. So where are the facts to prove Iran innocent of all charges? Here is an article which has been on the Internet for the past two years while Iran denies having a nuclear program. You will also find other links about Iran on that page. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4617398.stm

Maybe Iran hiding something, there is a possibility. But the fact that -there is another 'terorist illegal state' somewhere in the region that neither denies or admit that she has nuclear bombs and never want to allow UN to check her nuclear facility- makes the Iran is in an unfair situation. Why everybody want to press Iran? Why not kick the butt of the little illegal state that attacks Lebanon last year, I mean Israel?

Aaaaaaaah! Israel... In case you missed the news... Israel attacked a terrorist group in Lebanon which was sponsored by Iran. For as long as the Middle East refuse to recognise the State of Israel... people will die. It has gone on for 60 years and as the Arabs are pig headed about it... it will go on for another 60 years. Why does Iran need a nuclear bomb... if not to nuke Israel? Will Israel be the bad guy if it nuke Iran when it discovers that Iran is about to nuke Israel? Of course it will... From the Arab point of view... Israel should not be there... so if Israel get attack... it should take its punishment and not retaliate. Sounds fair... if you are an Arab.
