I know that many of you are familiar with a famous heart surgeon who is pitching a certain cholesterol drug on TV commercials. Do you see this as unethical? I do find it to be unethical, because I recently heard a famous psychiatrist relating how he was recruited by one of these companies to "push" their drug, and ended up feeling he was doing the wrong thing. He said it was even worse once he began to see signs of problems with the use of the drug, which led to his disassociation with the drug company. I feel that just as in law where there is a conflict of ethics this is true for medicine. I would like to know what you all think.

I am not surprised. Some doctors will do anything for money. That is why I don't trust doctors.

Many people do not trust doctors, sarah, and I now understand why.
