i just recently learned the beauty of opera by listening her songs. i bought an album "best 100" from amazon and deeply touched by "signore, ascolta". this song seems different from other, the style wise. later i learned that puccini wrote this opera "turandot" by some influence of chinese traditional music. well, i am chinese, so i can tell. of course, a lot of other aria i listened are all beauiful! "o mio babbino caro", "d'amor sull'ali rosee", "voi lo sapete, o mamma"... too many, i cannot even remember the name. i love callas! like one of the friend in this forum, her singing brings tears in my eyes. too good.

Yes, I agree, Maria Callas was great! There is a book about her, "Maria: Beyond the Callas legend" by Arianna Stassinopoulos, it was really good in my opinion. If you haven't read it already, you may give it a try!

I've never relly listened to opera, but I've been looking for a nice artist to sort of bring me into the opera world - maybe Maria is the one? :-)
