Hello! In my country we apply polyurethane. It is something you can buy in a harware and when applied it gives a permanent shine on wood tiles or floor. Then you would not have to put wax on it. I do not know how it is marketed in your country.

I am not familiar with metho. When I bought the place I am in right now I had all the carpets ripped out and had parquet floors installed (the wooden squares) I chose a pre-finished satin sheen. So now I just need to dust them dry with a swiffer mop and once a year or so I mop them slightly with a damp cloth. The shine is always the same. My son and daughter in law had reclaimed wooden floor boards installed. Then they had them waxed. So now the shine is not as bright as the one on my floors but they don't want to use any chemicals in their house.
I my old house I also had wooden floors. I moved out of the house for a 3 days and had people to come in and sand the floors and apply a type of shalack I guess. Anyway after the fumes had cleared I moved back in and never had to worry about the shine again.
