when i was growing up i was raised on a farm, my son however was raised in town. My friends with kids dont like there kids to get messy but my son well...i taught him about how i grew up and i grew up on mud pies..lol lol I encourage my son to get muddy to get germs its the only way for him to be healthy. My friends kids cant play in the mud or do other fun stuff and her kids are always sick. I believe playing in the mud, streams, etc is good for the kids it is creative and helps them learn and helps the body generate more antibodies to other things that could harm them. what do you think? do you let your child play in the mud?

Yes I do allow my children aged 10 and twins aged 8 in the mud. Only this weekend just gone my girl/boy twins aged 8 got covered in mud in the garden and i didn't want to stop them as they were having just so much fun out in the garden. They had water and were pouring it over each others heads and making the grass wet, making mud. They took there shoes nad socks off and started jumping up and down in the mud anf having such fun. I had to take all there clothes off when they came in and rush them up to the ready filled bath so they could get clean. The bath was very dirty when they got out! My 10 yr old boy loves to play football and the wetter nad muddier the pitch is the more he likes it and the more he throws himself down in the mud! Children are only children once and if they want to get muddy in the garden, well go for it.

I played in the mud when i was a kid. I had much fun out in the rain with the boys of the neighbourhood collecting frogs and salamanders and snakes. lol. when my daughter was young like under a year, i didn't want her to play in the dirt or in the grass. But this summer she will be older and as long as she has play clothes on i dont care what she does. She can get dirty if she wants. I think its only right they can play in the mud and dirt. it's sort of a right of passage for kids. What DOES that womens kids do when they are outside if they are not allowed to play in the mud ? lol

I let my kids play in mud, rain, streams, whatever. I agree that its good for them. We grew up playing in the woods and streams. We practically lived in the woods at our house. We would play house and brush the leaves to the side to make paths lol. I want my kids to have fun like that too.
