Is your daughter crazy about Hannah Montana, aka, Miley Cyrus?  |

 My seven-and-a-half year old daughter is crazy about Hannah Montana - aka Miley Cyrus. She has all her albums, watches the family channel show religiously ( over and over again), and tapes it too. Her dream is to become a famous singer. Miley Cyrus has been on tour recently, but unfortunately her tour did not include a date in our Canadian city, and this disappointed my daughter tremendously. I like the story I heard about Billy Ray Cyrus auditioning for the role of her father on the show to avoid being separated from his daughter after she won the role of Hannah Montana. The father and daughter appear to have a really close relationship. I think that at least on the surface, she appears to be a better role model than most of the young celebrities today. What do you think? Is Miley Cyrus an acceptable role model for young girls today? Is your daughter crazy about Miley Cyrus too?

My daughters love to sing but the last thing I need to have is my kids mimicking another movie or tv show, maybe if I can find the music without having to see the tv show it would work.

Young kids are always trying to fit in, they always seem to be trying to emulate celebrities from pop culture. That's why I'm trying to find one that has the potential to have some positive influence. | |

I guess how she comes through the teen years will be the test, though. I wonder if any child, regardless of how wonderful her parents are, can successfully navigate to a normal and well-adjusted adulthood when they are a child star? | |

Compared to all those other girls out there on TV, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, or even Vanessa Hudgens which was on the hit Disney Musical, High School Musical, I love her and I think she is the perfect role model. It's nice to see she was a wondering, caring father that's in the same business as her and that will protect her from that celeb status that everyone else is run down by. I think Miley Cyrus is the next big thing for these kids growing up now, and I also think she sends a very good message to kids growing up today in her music and her show.
