suggestions for sleep deprived people

A few days back, a news item at yahoo announced the launching of a book which talked about getting some sleep. The authors of the book gave a few suggestions for people who find themselves tossing and turning in bed to get some sleep.
These are their suggestions:
1. Don't toss and turn in bed -- sit up and try to do something that will make you sleepy like reading a book, etc.
2. Don't turn on a bright light as it will activate your brain.
3. You can try turning on a sound machine if you need some sound to get some sleep.
4. Make sure the temperature is just right so that your system will remain calm.
5. A glass of milk will help you get some sleep.
