 When i die, I would like a very simple funeral. All the money spent on prayers after my death should be used to feed the deprived children and old age homes. I think I will be more blessed with this than priests mumbling away some prayer. Maybe the little ones full stomachs or the old peoples wishes granted to some extent will soar my soul into the other world. Do you agree with me.

If you really want a simple funeral, tell all your loved ones so your wishes will be granted.

Christ did not frown upon the woman annointing his feet with costly oils and perfumes, after-all.
if you wish to donate to the needy you can always set up a trust fund for that particular cause to be distributed at your death - a life insurance annuity or whatever.

A genuine prayer from a loved ones mouth can do more wonders than all the prayers done by priest who do not know you well or personally. Setting up a trust fund will involve huge sums, whereas a costly funeral will not be sooooo costly. Having a simple funeral will not make your path harder in the other world. Whatever little you can donate, should be done via simple funerals. Thats my belief. Besides, you and I are not in the same catagory as Lord Christ. | |

A prayer said by your loved one is more beneficial to your soul than prayers just mumbled by priest who know you a little or not at all.
