I've never heard that - I'm diabetic and have history of kidney stones so I'm supposed to drink a lot - 2 to 3 liters a day! I can usually get down 2 liters but 3 is rough. I literally carry around water wherever I go and put lemon in it for some flavor. Maybe they are afraid it is working the kidneys too much? Let us know if you find out any evidence on that because I would be interested in it.

I've heard where you can actually die from drinking too much water but I'd have to assume its a major amount of water though. I too drink a lot of water and I've noticed I feel a little healthier replacing pop with water.

While I have never heard of this anything done in excess can be harmful to us. If you drink this much water because your always thirsty it is caused by high blood sugars and is a classic indicator of diabetes out of control. I am sure having been in the hospital for this you know that. But just being diabetic does not cause thirst. Only being out of control does that. I am not sure what you are doing for it. Are you now insulin dependant or are you trying to control it with diet and exercise? Or are you doing anything? In the event it is the last...a word of waning I am sure you have already heard. Dieing early may be the best thing that happens to you. My wife came down with it at the age of 41. She really did not take care of herself and ended up loosing part of her eyesight before she woke up. However she never really followed the rules of eating and exercizing like she should. Last Oct. 22nd she passed away from a heart attach. Most of her organs were compromised and her heart as bad or worse than most. This was my second wife. My first wife developed it at the same age and is now one year older than my second was. She did take care of herself and so far is doing very well. My son developed it at the age of eight. He is now 37 and doing well. Take this as a warning if you don't believe what the doctors are telling you. In just a few years you may loose your eyesight, toes, feet, and your overall health will be pretty bad. And it could have been all prevented.

I suppose it is possible to overdo it with water just like anything else. My Dr wants me to drink "about" 8 glasses of water per day. but she has never said how big a glass. I drink two (2) liter each day and if it is hot and I sweat a lot then I add more. I do recall reading in the Bible somewhere that we shou;d not over indulge in what we do or eat or drink.

I'm drinking water right now, I wouldn't say that I drink a lot of water. and I never heard that it's possible to drink to much of it.
