What's the Best SUV on the Market?

I'll be in the market for a new car soon, and may look at SUV's. I am leary of SUV's because of their perceived poor gas miliage.
The SUV's I'm looking at are the; Santa Fe, Mazda Tribute, Ford Escape, Toyota Rav 4. Which SUV is best on gas miliage?

We love our Toyota and the gas mileage isn't terrible, but SUVs are basically gas guzzlers.

If I were to buy an suv, I'd be purchasing a Ford Escape hybrid. If you can keep it in good shape, the engine should have a lot of need to switch over to gas and burn up your fuel.
