Better P*ssed Off Than P*ssed On...

...but, does this p*ss you off? You're soooo sleepy and you finally lay your head down to turn in for the night or take a nap, whichever the case may be, and just when you're just about to drift off...DARN...you realize you have to pee! I know, we should go before we lie down and I DO, but sometimes, especially when I've eaten something that makes me very thirsty, I tend to drink a bit too much water or whatever and I find I have to go again, right as I fall asleep! Is this as irritating to you guys as it is for me? Sometimes I decide I'll just hold it because I'm too tired or lazy to get up and go, but that doesn't work because I'm just too darned uncomfortable to rest now. Am I alone or have you gone through this too? Annie

There is no way in the world for me to fall asleep when I have to pee. I will toss and turn, moan and groan, cuss and carry on. But if I do not get up and pee, I can not sleep. I like to read before going to sleep, but sometimes I read so long that I will have to go again. As soon as I go, I have no problem falling right off to sleep. There are times in the morning though, when I will wake up and have to pee, but am able to fall back asleep if I do it immediately, but as soon as my eyes open all the way, I have to get up and go.

Rozie, I swear I started reading this and I thought to myself "I don't remember writing this but I know I must have!" You described me perfectly, that's exactly what happens to me. Right to the letter - toss and turn, moan and groan, cuss and carry on - that's ME! Same thing with waking up in the morning and sometimes being able to fall back asleep for awhile but then when I wake up again I really have to rush, doing my little dance on my way. Annie

I sure do feel for you, Hon, how well I remember that wonderful aspect of pregnancy! It's hard enough to get comfortable then to begin with, then as I recall I finally would be all nice and snug and - OF COURSE - I had to take a pit stop! Good luck with your baby and pleasant dreams, when you get the chance! Annie

oh yes annie... i feel your pain as i experience what you gone through as well some nights... i used to go to toilet so many times at night (if you read my post long long time ago, then you will know) until i thought that i have an illness... it is so annoying as whenever i want to drift off to sleep, i have to get up again to go to the toilet... and after that i have to try to fall asleep again... and the next morning, i feel so tired because i don't have enough sleep... but i am getting much much better now... so yes, i feel your pain... :-)

LOL. I have had this happen a few times. I hate it. You lay down and get all cozy, ready for dreaming and WHAM you have to pee. What the heck...your body couldnt say hey stop and take a pee before you lay down...Noooo It waits till your settled. LOL. Now its either get up and walk the whole 10 feet to the potty or lay there and be uncomfortable. I usually protest but get up and go. I have had kidney stones and an infection before. The doctor told me it was partly from drinking pop, and from holding it when I have to pee. I get a backup of toxins which cause infections and kidney stones. So as much as I hate to get up once im comfy I have to. I really dont want to be in that kind of pain again!

Oh you're hysterical! Oh, yes this happens all the time to me. Okay here's the scenario. Before I fall asleep, I lie in my bed reading...uh, at least as much as possible then I have a bad habit now of nodding off. I wake up maybe an hour or so later with my face mushed up into the book. Mark my spot and put the book away and would just love to settle and snuggle into bed, but oh, no, of course not as my bladder is telling me something different. I too, figure, well, gee maybe I can hold it in until I get up later. I mean who the heck wants to get up especially if they are already nice and snug in bed? Ah, but mother nature's call seems to be stronger so yup, got to schlep out of bed to tinkle. Drat!

Hello, Anniepa! Yes, that did happen to me a few times. Nowadays, I can hold it and there is no problem. I take 1~2 hours to sleep, so I already got used to it. Don't worry, it's nothing uncommon. Just try to set your body to work as you want, not as it want. Respectfully.
