| |  Hmm does making your own Christmas gifts count?? If so, then I started and finished some of mine 2 days after this past Christmas. I sent those gifts off at at beginning of this month (couldn't wait any longer had to send them out LOL). I have most of my shopping already done, except for minor items for my hubby & boys.
~Remember to give out +'s when it's deserved & select best responses. It helps us all out ;-]

| |  I am quite sure I am not the norm. I do Christmas shopping pretty much all year long.. sort of..
Ok, I will try to explain. I do not wait for Christmas, or any other holiday to give a gift that I either know someone wants/needs.
There was one Christmas I did hold off the giving of presents, waiting for the day.. or at least the eve as was the tradition in my family growing up. That Christmas my significant other ended up being airlifted to a hospital in Las Vegas, I drove at excessive speeds to meet them at the hospital. I was prepared for a long wait.. I fogot all about the presents that had amassed so did not even think to take hers... By morning she was dead. She never even got to see those presents. So now, I never wait, if I am moved to give someone a present.. I do so no matter what month or day it is.. and pick a holiday.. (if their birthday is closer than Christmas then I will probably say birthday)
Likewise if someone gives me something, especially if it is expensive, I say well this looks like my next *insert closest holiday .. sometimes the next two* To let them know nothing is expected on the very day of any occassion. (sometimes I get asked about this.. but once they know why I do it, no one seems to mind.)

| | That's a good way to look at life. Give a present whenever you feel moved. :) sorry to hear about what happened in the past to you though. That must have been devastating.
If others are like my family, we don't always have alot of extra money, but I still try to get something meaningful. Maybe I should try to take your approach--kinda just be looking all year long. But then I could be like the response from above. --I'd get the gift, but then probably coulnd't wait until Christmas to give it to them, lol :)
