Have you been to or hosted a tattoo party? How did it go? What were the ups and downs? Was there a theme? Was there something you would have done differently? How did the guest interact with the artist? If you didn't host the party, was it given by a friend or did you respond to a flyer? Was the artist a friend, or did you respond to an ad? Also, please feel free to just give your opinion about tattoo parties. Thank you in advance for responding.

I have not but worked at a hotel where people would come to be tatooed. They are seedy and you can really get hurt if you are not careful. I do not recommend them. Check the news article about the two brothers who are in trouble for a shotting in I believe Ohio, not sure of the state. Some adult rented a room for a bunch of kids and a gun fight broke out. Blood was all over the parking lot, everywhere. Now these little kids have ruined their lives over some not-so-smart tatoo party. Stay away, stay far, far away!!!

I'm not sure if that happened in Ohio or not, if so it didn't make our newspapers. Anyway, not all tattoo parties are bad. And the key term you used about that party was "kids". I'm not talking about some get drunk and high party with kids. I'm talking about a legit party, with a tattoo parlor owner that is licensed and certified. A party that has adults and where the tattoo artist has the patrons sign a waiver and agreement that they are over the age of 18. And I'm not talking about in some hotel or motel room. I'm talking about at a hall or someone's house who with the tattoo artist set aside an area in the home to do the tattoos. A place that was perfectly planned out... a party that was planned and in the state guidelines. However, I thank you very much for your response, it was greatly appreciated. And I like the fact that you included information from a tat party gone wrong.
