I remember cookies and mixing it up in bowl. Laughing and telling jokes. So what your best memory for the first time that you you made something from scratch! You can even put them on here if they aren't a family secret.

wow you are really making me trot down memory lane here... i don't think i can remember exactly what was my first baking experience.
it must have been something together with my parents in our old home when we still had an oven. i remember my dad had a great kenwood mixer that he has since passed on to me. since now my new place has an oven.
i think when i have kids i will want to make baking a regular affair. it's so nice to have kids help bake and when that becomes a part of their childhood memories. warm oven smells and family togetherness.

I think it would have to have been chocolate chip cookies. That is normally they first thing we all learn to make.

My family and I bake a TON of cookies and other deserts from scratch every Christmas, and we bake other deserts for every holiday. Its the only time my whole family gets along for long periods at a time, haha.
I am especially known for the mile high apple pie that I make from scratch, for most holiday dinners. ;)
