Zoo fears as polar bear eats cubs  | |  They have to separate the cub from the mother because the zoo fears that the mother might eat the cub.
"Wednesday, the zoo said keepers decided to take the cub away from its mother, Vera, because the mother was showing signs of being upset and confused, taking her baby in and out of the animals' enclosure."
Poor baby bear would not be able to feed from its mother.

It is a great shame that he has had to be taken away from his mum but it was for his own good as she was dropping him on his head and had already hurt her other cub - I think they said she had killed the other one.
The little polar bear will now be hand reared and I wish his well and hope his mother will be ok too.

I raise tropical fishes such as angelfish and domestic angelfish sometimes will eat their own eggs but wild angelfish are great at taking care of their eggs and young. I am sure that the male cub will be just fine by being hand fed but since he is a mole he will not have to take care of any young bear cubs.
