a question about the statue of liberty

hi all, just a general question, when i visited the statue of liberty in the 80's i went upto the crown and could look out of there, i wanted to know if that was still possible?

i have been to new yourk two years upon. I would have wanted to went upto the crown but i didn't because of a lot of queue.. i think that it is possible to climb it.. but maybe you must book before

I don't believe it is, which is a shame because it is a great view from up there. Things changed after 9/11. I'm looking at the site now and the highest you can go is the pedestal.
