Have you ever suffered sexism in your life ? How bad did it get ? Tell us your story. Did you suffer this on the job, from family,in school,in college,in your home, from a stranger, from a boyfriend, husband. If you have ever gone through this, how did it make you feel ? Not sexism as such but is there such thing as motherism. Years ago I worked for a company and because I was a mum I wasn't promoted but a woman inher late forties unmarried without children was in my place. She did deserve the job as much as I but I did over hear one of the directors saying @she already has one child I expect they'll have another and she won't be able to dedicate herself to her job as much'He was right I did go on to have another and another but have always worked and never let my personal life affect my career

Thats the first time I heard of momism.Kids get sick and sometimes have problems at school. They were probably thinking about things like that where you would have to put the kids as a priority.

There is a first for everything, I know that is probably where they were coming from, but had a supportive partner who would pick the children up from childminders if I worked late and when sick we shared the responsibility. I am a single mum and only work part-time due to situation and cicumstances but back then I would have balanced it all very well.

When I started to drive a taxi 20 years or so ago we were only allowed to drive the day shift. It took me a few years but I finally found a man who owned a cab that thought I had the same right as a man to pick my shift and allowed me to be equal in my job. I never looked back and now women are accepted as part of the night crew. I admit that I had to be "one of the boys" to fit in tho!
