Hi I work in a very small long term care setting where we care for the elderly elderly--most have dementia in addition to other physical limitations. 80% are in wheelcahirs; 1/2 are on thickened liquids and pureed foods. Less than 8 residents feed themselves. We have only one activity space-the living room/lobby and the front door opens immediately into it. We do daily exercise--about 8 can follow; we do lots of sing alongs and ball and balloon games "finish the phrase, song title, etc. games, spelling, pet therapy; Four can play bingo independently; a couple more can play with a lot of assistance. Three no longer speak English.help I need some new ideas! Ann
