Have you ever thought that the money which you get it from the bank can be fake?  | |  I don't think so. Few months ago, I wanted to withdraw 750$ from my account from the bank(I can't tell you the name),and make a depozit in another account(joint accont with my husbund) at another bank, where my mortgage company had to take the money from,after two days.
First, I got 750$ from the bank where i have some extra money and when i gave the money at the teller at the other bank where follow to make the depozit in my joint account with my husbund,that person asked me where i have the money from,because a 20 $ bill were fake. After I explained her and showed the name of the bank where I got the money from, she wanted to call the police. But,again,I explained her that it is not my fault and I can prove it,she decided to give me back the 20 $ fake bill. I took it and I went back to the banck where I got it from. There the teller was so surprised and tell me that she didn't know that the money were fack,but she wanted to change the money and gave me another 20$ bill imediately. Today i say that I had luck because could be more feck money and the things could be worst.
After this incident,all the time when I withdraw money from the banck I check it up,and then I get it,in spite of the tellers who looks at me astonished.
If is not happend to you,I give you an advice: be careful when sombody gives money to you.

We were a small credit union so it was procedure when we replenished money into our draw to check $20 bills and above by marking them with a special pen. We could also check the magnetic strip too if we really questioned it.
We always encouraged our members to check the money they received from anyone including us. I am surprised the tellers look at you funny when you check the money. If they continue to do so, you can tell you once received a fake $20 from a bank.
Believe it or not it is more common than you think, fake bills being passed to banks and from banks. If you ever question a bill authenticity you can do the following:
1. Buy a special money pen which can be bought almost any office supply store. The marker is brown and if the bill is fake the mark will turn black.
2. Look at the magnetic strip. For example if you have a $50 in your hand but the strip reads $20 it is a fake.
3. Look at the bill and see if you can see green and red fibers.
4. If the bill doesn't feel like the other bills in your pocket check it with the special pen or look at the coloration if it looks more gray then green take it to the bank to verify it.
