when the turbine rotates by the starter,the inlet guide vane duct the air through it. this air is ducted to the low pressure compressor and from there compressed air reaches to the high pressure compressor where the air is highly compressed.from the compressor section the compressed air reaches to the combustion chamber where the fuel air mixture burns and an expansion of this burned fuel air mixture causes some thrust to the aircraft.next to combustion chamber there is exhaust system this burned gas expells out with a great force helps the aircraft to move forward.this is the basic operation of gas turbine engine.
