Has Barry Manilow ever recorded an original song?

I'm just curious because I saw that he had a new album out recently, and they are all covers. In fact, every song I've ever heard by him was a cover. I'm not a fan, so I don't listen often, so maybe I'm just missing something.
If he only records covers, what's all the hype? There are people who go nuts for him, and I don't get why. I think a huge part of what defines a person as a musician is to write and play music, not just singing.

Obviously you are not a fan. Yes he has written many of his own songs. He has a couple of friends who colaborate with him and have together written many multiplatinum albums. If you want to check out more about him check with the BMIFC which lists all things Manilow. By the way I have been a "Fanilow" for many years.

Sorry, it was an honest question. Not sarcastic, and not meant to offend. I have never heard on the radio (the only time I would hear him) an original song. He does a good job on the covers, though.

No offense taken. He's been around for years but now with all the other styles of music he doesn't get the airplay he used to get. He is currently doing a show in Las Vegas which is packed every night.
