Do parents with full consent allow their daughters to go for fashion shows? |
|
This is with relevant to India where still there is heavy criticism against those fashion Shows conducted in an indecent manner. If iam asked even civilized parents will have second thought allowing their daughters to take part in fashion shows. Frankly speaking these girls do things against their parents. It will become impossible for the parents to gainsay anything against their daughters these days. When the girls get mislead because of this fashion shows the parents will be worried. I do agree that some girls shine very well as models taking this profession very seriously but most girls in spite of getting into this industry trap into unwanted contacts and ruin their life itself. Before 3 months I read in newspaper that a girl who was once a super model and walked the ramp along with former Miss Universe.Ms.Sushmita Sen was seen begging in the streets of New Delhi and her pathetic story was also published which narrated the consequences which forced her to reach this position. Her family too neglected her and she spoiled her personal life and some women organization rescued her. Even actresses life in the long run becomes a question mark because the money they earn at any stage is going to bring them a good life and be happy. It is always better for the parents at the initial stage itself to guide these girls while they take career choice.

It is a pastime and mostly upper middle class and upperclass people attend these shows, besides other desigers, promoters of fashion and dealers. I do not think the girls belong to these families require permission to go to fashion shows. I can undertstand if the girl asks permission to go with a boy friend for overnight stay!!. Of late girls do not take permission from parents, they only inform they have completed the visit.

5. mithrarao (1366) | 7 months ago | Hi Subha....Until a few years ago it was unthinkable for girls from good families to take part in fashion shows or act in movies, and the parents very much opposed it.....But now for the past decade or show I am seeing a great change in the outlook of parents and society at large and there has been a liberal out look towards girls taking up any talent or any career of their choice..... And very often I have seen the parents, especially the mothers themselves sent pictures of their daughters and get them enrolled in such fashion contests..There has been a great liberalization in the attitude towards girls, and parents want their girls to have equal opportunities to men and also their western counterparts..... Yes I do agree these girls should be given guidance and support by the parents,so that they will not get too carried away and learn to deal with things in a level headed manner....But as in all fields,in modelling and acting there are girls who get carried away by false promises and lure of money and end up in the streets.....But this should be seen as only the negative aspect of things and not as the end itself......

6. cupid74 (2779) | 7 months ago | Hi Suba its again controversial topic but i would say that things are changing now fashion shows and ads are getting so common and now their are proper institute who train girls and boys for fashion shows and ads, so youth joining those institutes with will of their parents are heading towarrds this profession. No doubt the glamour of This profession is very attractive and u cant know the behind the curtain scenes b4 and people get advantage of girls and boys and manipulated them but now with involvement of education, more competition, excess to media, i sure hope things are getting better but still lot of parents will hesitate to let girls join this take care
