I am saving for a laptop, but have no idea whether to get a Macbook Pro or the Macbook Air. I want one with lots of power yet portable, I am a writer but my novel happens on a far off world and I need it to do a graphic program as well. So are there any experts that would give me an idea? I would also like a wide screen as well, that is before I have enough money to order it when it comes in our store.

The screen on the Macbook Air is only 13"
I can suggest that if you want to save some $$ PM me & I'll give you my roomie's work # and she can help you pick out something that'll be right for you.
You can also check http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=44BD9AA1&nclm=CertifiedMac if this doesn't take you to the right place, go to the Apple page go to the bottom right hand side (I'd call it left cause its on my left hand) under "special deals."

It appears to me that the Macbook Pro is much better. I do need a larger screen. Besides I need the exercise lifting, the Air seems a bit light.

Except it might be a bit later than I thought. My husband bought a new bed and we went into the Home Outfitters Store, we had a $10 gift certificate but I had to use my HBC Credit Card to get it. Now I am out $600. I have the money to pay for it, my husband said he will and I left the slip to remind him, but he may decde to pay it in two payments, so I would probably have to pay the money first and my pension check does not come until March, too late to go without interest charges.

My son has a "Dell" laptop and he loves it. They cannot use their computer room so they got rid of the desk top -- reason, baby now in that room, but they are already saving for their new house, although I suspect they will get a fixerupper.

Yeah I have heard of this new technology that Apple computers have released and announced. They have announced their thinnest Apple Macbook ever, the Macbook Air! I have seen some demo and other videos and it is really thin! I wonder how they made such technology.

I was checking it and for me I think the Macbook Pro would be better. The Air seems a bit too flimsy.

I've seen the Macbook Air and loved it! it's so slim and sleek..very beautiful. Cant get over its slimness. But it doesn't come with an optical drive so that's one of the drawback I think..coz I would like to have my own cd-rom drive. although it's an advantage for apple in a way..

Macs have some really nice laptops. I own the regular macbook, and it's got the 13.3 inch screen. It's actually big enough for me, and my vision isn't the best. If you want a CD drive of any kind, the air is not the way to go. Good luck in your searches! Macs are great, and they look good!
