Trying to follow the US elections from Europe and can someone try to explain what the core differences are between The Democrat Party and the Republican Party as from a distance, they seem to virtually the same, unlike in Europe where you have parties to the Left, Socialists, parties in the Centre and those on the Right, Conservatives.

Tony Blair - Tony Blair in his Jan 08 visit to Middle East, a Palestine state definitely going to happen.
There are many differences between Democrats and Republicans in fiscal issues, tax, spending, foreign relations. Tax: Democrats belief that high income people should be taxed with higher brackets while republicans usually want to cut taxes across the board;Fiscal issues: Republicans used to be more balanced - the last administration got out of hand with two wars and many threats - while Democrats are more relaxed except for Clinton that was very rigid;Spending: Democrats like to spend money in social programs while Republicans prefer investment in infra-structure Foreign Relations: Republicans tend to be more isolationist than Democrats. Gasp is more difficult to find differences in Europe than the US. I lived in Spain and France. And Tony Blair government is well-know for every one.
