"3:10 to Yuma" is about a poverty stricken farmer who commits to handle an outlaw (for money) whose being held while waiting for a train, that will lead him to court/prison. I blame director James Mangold for the uninspiring, overall performance of "3:10 to Yuma". His direction was timid, and the action sequences were outlandishly boring. The storyline was typical and the script lacked the important aspect of originality. And the conclusion fails to be authentic, seeing as how the characters did things outside of motivations, that supposedly they had. Making the ending unbelievable. Plus, the fine performances of Foster and Mol will be overlooked because they were severely underused. The one thing that aids in redeeming the foul aspects, is the brilliant acting. Bale and Crowe sizzle in their gritty portrayal's. Each one nails every scene and makes you wish that they had more to work with. They carry the film into a territory that is worthy of being viewed. In the end you care not for the story and directing, but are able to praise the continued beauty of proper acting from Bale and Crowe. They manage to deliver intense feelings in serious subtle ways. So what did you think of "3:10 to Yuma" ?

I, for one, loved the movie. I think I have watched 4 or 5 times now. I loved the old westerns of the 60's and 70's and this reminded me so much of them. I think it was intended to be like a typical western. I am going to go watch it again.

Im glad you enjoyed this film. Im sort of the opposite, Ive never really enjoyed the old westerns of the past decades, so that is surely why it was less than pleasing to me. But Im glad that there are those out there that can enjoy the western's for the rest of us :D
