| The Newlywed Game  | | | |  I'm talking about the original version, with Bob Eubanks. WOW, is this show a trip in more ways than one! I find it amazing as a history artifact, in that the women are blatantly addressed as "girls", and very often, Eubanks makes an aside regarding his belief women should be cooking for their spouse.
I know it was pre-feminism but it is pretty amazing to watch. The social mores have changed dramatically.

| |  I think it's amazing to see things like this. I haven't seen any of the old episodes for years (I used to see them on the Game Show Network when I was in middle school). I'd love to watch it now that I'd be able to pick up on things like that.
This is slightly related--but looking at old advertisements and food labels (I have a book filled with them), there's a ton that are blatantly racist and stereotypical. It's really interesting to see.

| | It's still on GSN, usually in the morning. The prizes were pretty lame, too, lol :) But yeah, stuff like that is amazing to watch, especially when the prize would be some kitchen appliance and the husband will pat the wife on the back, etc.
