Heart Attack |
|
I am a paramedic here in our country the Philippines. I have responded to a lot of emergencies since I have been in the rescue unit for 13 years. I have seen people suffering from heart disease and eventually going into cardiac arrest. Long before, one of the risk factor for heart disease is being at the age of 40 and above. However, I have noted that we have several cases of heart attacks even at the age of 30 and below. Do you think this has got to do with what people eat? or perhaps environment... pollution, etc. The youngest victim I have responded to was 21 year old, with no history of heart disease, chest pain which would indicate an underlying problem. It is sad to note that the that heart attack victim are getting younger nowadays.

As for me, I am also scared and is planning to see a doctor to check on me, especially my heart. You see, I have experienced having pain on my left arm recently; I read that it could be a mild heart attack and I'm not aware of it. A few days back, a friend did a reflexology on my foot and even suggested that I may have a heart problem because of the pain I felt during the reflex. I suggested to my son that he arrange an appointment for me to see a doctor to make sure. Of course, I have no other symptoms. I'm now 50 years old, and anything is possible.

As you can see, heart attacks can be treacherous. There are cases that it may give you some warnings like angina or may give you no warning at all. I hope you can have yourself check and wish you the best of health.

| 3. MyNameIsGabriel (35) | 7 months ago | It might be te food - people now days eat alot of junk, fatty foods, high colesterol foods, and more.. It might also be the fact that people became lazy, and do less sport than they should - taking the buss to save a 10 minutes walk, taking the elevator and such.. There are many more reasons, stress to, age, genetic reasons and the list goes on...

jpso138 (799) | 7 months ago | Yes, there are a lot of factors that are affecting us today as compared before. From the food to the environment as well as our lifestyles nowadays. Most of the comfort in life usually gives us lesser activities like the elevator instead of the staircase, the car, instead of the bicycle and so on. As you have said... the list goes on and many more inventions are being added.

jpso138 (799) | 7 months ago | Yes, from what I have learned, heart disease is actually a hereditary disease. So it is best to have some check up from time to time if our parents have heart diseases since there is always the tendency that we may inherit this problem. But you don't have to worry for as long as you take care and monitor and likewise control the risk factors that may cause heart problems like, smoking, excessive coffee, lack of exercise, obesity, cholesterol etc. Best of health to your mother and your family.
