Do you like Japanese Cartoons over Disney cartoons?  

I love anime. Japanese cartoons have so much more range of emotion in my viewpoint. Also, while it's true that some are violent, those are often shows that weren't originally intended for children but have been mistaken to be by the rest of the world. As an anime fan who is also a parent, I get very annoyed with parents who use the idea "Anything animated is for children" instead of actually monitoring the age appropriateness of what they're letting their kids watch.

I guess being an adult is part of what makes me like anime better than American cartoons. There are shows for adults, with more complex themes and plotlines, and that appeals to me. I like some of the horror elements sometimes.

We grow up with cartoons by our side.
For me, both Japanese Cartoons and Disney cartoons are great and i love both of them. If i have to say which one i love more that will be Japanese cartoons.
You said Japanese cartoons are voilent, this is partly true, but there're still Japanese cartoons are not voilent, right?
I'm a japanese major, so watching japanese cartoons is a combinition of learning and having fun.
Anyway, both of them are good, we should choose some suitable ones for kids, right?

I definitely like Anime over Disney cartoons! It's much more dramatic and the plot in anime cartoons are really good! Plus compared to animation graphics, Disney is no match for Animes! Totally imaginative, and action packed, Anime is one of the best cartoons here on Earth! AND THE UNIVERSE! Lol! Peace out! =)

I like Disney Cartoons. I have watched Japanese cartoons, but I find them like you, too violent for children. They are more suitable for adults. I find that there is a lot of blood, bodies being dismembered, heads flying through the air, people being decapitated, and gore all over the place. If a child watches that too much, he becomes hardened against any form of cruelty or he becomes afraid, and that is bad. We have to protect our children, not harden them.

disney cartoons are more towards younger age people like kids below 12 years old.while anime cartoons from japan is suitable for teenagers above 12 as well.i do not think anime cartoons are violent.in terms of quality anime cartoons is better than disney cartoons.this is because the characters of anime usually is very handsome or beautiful.

japanese is very good in making cartoons.even hollywood directors will hire japanese people to make the cartoons for them.while for disney channel all the characters have a similar look.they only make the difference by changing the hair,eyes colour,skin complexion.the audio and video quality is also very good for anime.

while disney cartoons their voices is usually very high pitch and really hurt my ears a lot.i also found out it is very annoying.i do not think it is necessary for parents to watch the kids when they watching japanese cartoons.

im a fan of anime and i definitely like anime over disney cartoons coz the the characters itself are really great and the story are very thrilling.

I like both the same. I love Disney for it's cute, fairy tale-type style, and I like anime for it's versatility in genre and drawing style.

ever since I was a kid (well, I still am... I think ^^) i am not fond of disney animations. yes, some are vvery good like Anastasia or Pocahontas but the ohers are just too feminine and I don't like feminine things.

Anime is more mature - more "spicy" in other words. Most animes have really interesting plots and you'll never get tired of watching them. yes, some of them are "violent" and not suitable for "kids" but that is because it targets a different audience. see, there are at least four kinds of anime

1. shoujo - these animes targets girl audiences
2. shounen - animes for boys (usually revolves around martial arts and sci-fi action)
3. seinen - focuses on adult male audinces
4. josei - targets adult female audiences

see? it's just a matter of picking the right category. and unlike disney cartoons there are a lot in animes to choose from

I love ANIME! I like Disney as well, but only if it is Atlantis, or the films with no music in it. And for the record, ANIME IS NOT CARTOONS! Anime and mangas are awesome. I am a Robotech and Van Dread, and I get such a kick out of watching those Animes. They beat the heck out of Disney any day. Yes, Disney is for children, but Anime is for adults. Comic books, graphic novels, Anime, and mangas are for adults, they were never actually meant for children. Why should they be for children? We adults love our fantasy too. We should be able to have Anime. The difference between Anime and cartoons, Anime has storylines and adult content, cartoons have little to no storyline and are literally for children. Do not dumb down Anime. Anime is art. It is an artform, just like manga, comic books, and graphic novels.

I don't care for Manga/Japanese cartoons at all. Well, except for Dragonball Z. I much prefer Disney. My boys love Yu-Gi_Oh cartoons, Xiolin Showdown, Avatar and Naruto. Xiolin Showdown is okay but I don't like the others very much. I like the newer Disney movies like Meet the Robinson's and The Incredibles. Aladdin is my favorite "regular" animated Disney cartoon.
