 i have a friend and we are both musicians. i gave him 3 midi files that i need for a singing conference. i gave that to him for him to edit it and add a little more music into it. i told him if he is finish please give me a copy then he can keep it. we can both benifit on that music.
but he didnt give me any copy. i text him but there was no reply.
after 3 months of no communication his wife paid me a visit and is asking for 4 songs in midi files. she said that his hubby needs it for he will be playing on a friends wedding. i dont know if his wife knows about the file i told him to edit. i just told her wife write the songs title then i will just look at my file.
when she left i look at the songs and the songs are the rare ones. the songs he needed are the songs that are not easy to find. i have midis of that songs because i paid someone to do it for me.
i am not a selfish person, i always help in anyway i can. but now i am having second thoughts if i have to give him a copy because of what he did to me.

LOL i mean, asked first for the midi files that you gave him for him to edit. it should always be give and take since you are both in the music industry. just remind him about the favor you asked of him. if he doesn't remember it, which i think is impossible, then to heck with his request. LOL
i mean, if i were you i would definitely be mad and i'll just say that i have no files of whatever songs he is asking of you.^__^;; i know the golden rule, don't do unto others what you don't want to do unto you, but since he first violated that rule, i'll just be teaching him a lesson and letting him experience the karma brought by the rule. bwahahahaha!^__^;; i just hate people who takes and takes without ever giving anything. i might help but i will give a limit to it.
but hey, we don't know if he really did forget about what you were asking or if he has valid reasons for not doing it, so first, give him the benefit of explaining himself first. if you didn't like his reasons but he is truly sorry, then that's the time to decide whether or not to help him. i mean, help him but ask him to do your request. if he is not sincere, forget about helping him.^__^;;

this does really makes me feel bad that now that he needs a file from me he dont even have the nerve to face me. he just let his wife be the one to go to my place and ask for the files he needed. thanks for the response atleast it is giving me time to think and to decide what is right. | |

| 2. squaretile (2188) | 7 months ago |  oh dear, this sounds like your friend is taking you for granted. if his wife came and asked you, then you could have mentioned casually that you had left another file with him and he had not returned it yet. and that you were waiting for it and would really appreciate it.
perhaps if he honours his promise on that previous copy for you, then you would be happier to help him back as well. people should not always be expecting to take and never give.

if he comes back to your house tell them they have to pay just like you did, you paid the person who made those files for you and now that he is asking a copy then he has to pay you too.
for the old file that you gave him forget about that i know you can find somebody else that can do that for you.
