Aunt by Marriage

My Uncle's Wife ran off to Nashville to pursue a singing career after 15 years of marriage. She broke his heart only later to him in debt up to their eyeballs and now trying to work out their marriage. In the meantime they have be living in a travel trailer. They come up and stay at our house for a week or two off and on. Let me tell you what...I work full time and I come home and her laundry is backed up in the utility room. She sleeps all the time and when not sleeping she's on the computer downloading country music and keeping in touch with the Nashville seen. My husband and I both work and the kids are in school. We live out in the country and we have two dogs that have free run of the house and she's always complaining about our dogs barking. We try to be pleasant but at the same time they aren't helping us out with groceries, utility bills or internet usage. It's not even really that we expect money but they could at least show sincerity by helping with housecleaning, bringing in wood. Something!!! Got any suggestions?

I totally agree with you. I once had a relative just like that. What I did was to talk to them. I'm also not expecting any monies to be given by them, but I definitely appreciate if they don't mess my place up or help out in my daily house chores. Why don't you talk to them out?
