Relationships with Athletes

Hello. I've read Kouji Seo's manga, Suzuka from a long time before and it had a couple who happen to be athletes in their own separate ways. One's a high jumper while the other's on track. This is a bit different from the story in the manga but, it got me thinking, how do individuals who are not atheletes deal with their partners who are athletes? Would it be difficult? Time constraints? Conflict in interests? What are your thougts in this matter? Please share your thoughts and ideas. If in such a relationship, please, if its not too much, share your experiences.
