We have both these movies as well. I think both movies are good. I think the animation is better in The Prince of Egypt. I wonder if that's because it was released in the theathers. My kids will watch them from time to time.

Nice to see a discussion on this, even though its old. I was amazed. The movie took quite an original direction without being similar to the Ten Commandments (which is, BTW, a wonderful classic). The disputes between two foster brothers and the neccesary measures that needed to be taken to save lives. The lyric writing, though, really needed some work ("Playing with the big boys?" Seriously). However, Han Zimmer compelling score compensated and brought the needed atmosphere and the visual sequences are eye-candy and well-directed. Writer Stephen Swartz has seemed to improve when he wrote songs for the musical Wicked. I never seen Joseph King of Dreams though, being a Dreamsworks direct-video sequel.
