If any of you own one of these digital cameras you probably agree with me. If you don't, save your money.

This is the camera I bought myself for Christmas this year. After countless hours searching the internet I managed to get it for only $270.00 which is almost a hundred dollars less then it normally retails for.

I had to have this camera. It is waterproof up to depths of like 30 feet. Crush proof up to like 200 pounds. Freeze proof to negative 10 degrees. And is supposed to take amazing pictures with its 7.1 megapixels.

This camera is thinner than a pack of cigarettes yet it comes in a box about 4 inches high. Do you know why? The USERS manual!

I need a degree in engineering to operate this freakin thing. I used it once on Christmas morning and I can only fit 24 pictures on the internal memory it has. So now I have to go out and buy a special memory card for it.

I could go on and on about the evils of this camera but I will spare you all the pain I have been through.

Do any of you own this camera? Do you like it? Or how about technology in general. Have any of you ever purchased something to make your life easier only to cause yourself headache after headache trying to use it?

Crafted by Satan -- now that's funny. Love the sarcasm. Well for one if you're only able to fit 24 pictures from the internal memory it all depends on the size of your picture. Nowadays when you do buy a digital camera some of them comes with only a 16MB or 32MB memory card. Nowadays memory cards aren't expensive just to get 1GB memory card for about $20. When I buy digital cameras I get Olympus, Canon or Kodak.

My gosh do you have the freaking luck or what? LOL!! I have a digital camera and I hate the thing I swear it mocks me on purpose. LOL!! I know what you mean when you buy something as small as a pack of cigerates and have an owner's manual the size of an encylopedia you begin to wonder if the have courses in local colleges now covering operating digital cameras 101.

I'm not sure but I think most digital cameras come with a light internal memory so you need a card- I've had a few and they were all like that. As far as the brand- I have a Fuji that I love- yep with a card.
I bought an Ipod because I thought it would be cool and I love music but that sucked I could only download from Itunes and it wasn't as technologically advanced as I thought. So I ditched it- recently I got a Zune and that rocks- way easier, music from almost anywhere and it's easy to use. Other than that I'm not that big on gadgets...

LOL! You poor thing! Sure sounds like this little sucker has been more of a curse than anything else. I'd have to guess that the manufacturer made it virtually indestructible because after trying to use it, most people would be ready to annihilate the little sucker five seconds after breaking it out of the package.

But seriously--thankfully I don't have this one. I only broke down and got my first digital camera a couple Christmases ago. It was one of those Black Friday doorbuster type deals. So I kinda figured it wouldn't be the highest quality or most user friendly thing considering the steal it was. I've had a bit of frustration with it so far, but not quite to the extent it sounds you've had with yours. Mine is I think a Panasonic.

I have to admit though that I did give up on the flunky piece of garbage of a 'users manual' they provided with this thing. To be honest, I have the exact opposite situation as you with the manual. I think the manual with mine was a whole four pages long. . . and didn't explain *anything* at all. I think if I was lucky, it showed me where the on button was. Seriously! I mean, the guide didn't even explain what all the little symbols on the other buttons were! So here I am sitting on Christmas day trying desperately to catch those kodak moments quite unsuccessfully. By the time I figured out how to get the flash on, everything was over with.

The one thing I'm with you on though, is that I didn't know when I bought it exactly how *few* pics you could store on the internal memory, being my first digital and all. I think I fit maybe all of ten pics on mine before it said the memory was full. GRRRRR! My only saving grace that Christmas was that there were enough other people around who had disposables with them that we still got some pictures from the day. Otherwise, I think I would have been looking for a reeeeeeally high building to drop mine from the top of.

As for other forms of technology, I'm not really a techno-phobe. I just don't go out and get that many gadgets for myself. I tend to wait a really long time till things have been out on the market long enough to get the kinks worked out and for the price to come down substantially before I buy.
