Do You have a union at your place of employment?

If so, how is it working out for you? The reason I ask is that I have been working at this company for 12 years.We have not had a union until now, in-fact yesterday we went to a tentative agreement meeting yesterday evening to hear explanations of the contract, it sounds pretty good except a couple of issues. But we all had to vote on it and we've got the yes vote. I have never worked in a company with a union, so any information as to how it is to work as a union employee would help. My concern is are they making all this to sound good and then later on everything goes bad? I just hope it will be a good experience for me. Thanks!
