Neonatal jaundice is a yellowing of the skin and other tissue of a newborn infant caused by the accumulating of indirect unconjugated bilirubin in the skin due to an overall increase in the total bilirubin in the blood. Neonatal jaundice is of two types: physiological or no-physiological/pathological. Physiological jaundice, which is usually harmless, is often seen in infants around the second day after birth, lasting till day 8 in normal birth, or to around day 14 in premature birth. So that was some fact that the doctor has giving to my wife when the doctor say that my baby was have jaundice. i already know the medicinal way to handle this problem, but in my religion there is many traditional way to treat this ill, you can find it in malaysian traditional medical... so how about in the other country.. are they still do the traditional way...

All five of my children had jaundice. They each spent some time under the "billi" lights (an incubator with special lighting on the baby). It is tough to see them in there, but the jaundice does fade very quickly. None of my children were under the lights for longer then 3 days, and all of them are healthy happy kids now, no long term illnesses resulted from the jaundice. Not too mention, it is a very non invasive treatment, they only need a small blood draw each day to test their billirubin levels, no chemicals or medicines are injected into the baby, also, make sure that the baby nurses frequently or drinks a bottle frequently as the fluids help clear the billirubin out of their systems as well.

yeah the treatment should be like that, i like to tell you all here it's my first baby, i dont have any knowlwdge about this baby problem, the best part is when my baby born my family in both side keep visiting our baby, i just watching there listen to what thier say, i simply lough to my self because their all act like a doctor, saying the best medicine to treat the jaundice, maybe the other country never do this before but in my country these a lot of traditional way some of it is give the baby to drink cow milk, avoid the baby from wearing yellow cloth, bath the baby with some kind of flower and many more, isn't it funny.. but sometimes i have to accepts this because maybe it works or give a little bit help.. so that it.. but now my baby jaundice in the normal condition so i'm happy with that..no matter what type the treatment at less it safe i can consider to work on it.. :)

I had jaundice when I was born and they kept me in an incubator for 2 weeks, I was a premature baby by 2 weeks. Back then they would just run all types of tests and I am certain that now they do the same. Everyone has a way to handle it. But it may also mean you're baby will have certain health problems growing up. Believe me that is what happened with me growing up.
