What the heck was that?

When some celebrities are trying desperately to keep their lives private why in the world would others air their dirty laundry on national TV. I understand they are trying to keep their names in the news and on the lips of people, so this discussion is really the point of their actions but holy cr@p. I am not one for reality TV however I have been hearing about this show Celebrity Rehab with DR. Drew so I thought I would check it out. This is probably the most pathetic thing I have ever seen, why would anyone want that aired on TV. I am happy to see them getting help that is not the pathetic thing it is the fact that they feel the need to do it were the world can see and why? do they think it will get them work? I mean really if I was getting set to file a movie and was going over possible leading actors I would not be like "Daniel Baldwin, I saw him on celebrity rehab I want that psycho on my set, oh ya his freak outs and ranks and puke and crazy carrying on is what I want." There are a whole list of these celebs doing this reality TV stuff. *Brett Michaels- really you think your going to find love on TV with these fame seeking, gold digging, plastic woman? oh and by the way Brett the make up doesn't help you are still old, and when did you get ugly (way to crush my childhood dreams) I will say you can still sing but really man stay on the stage and get off my TV. *Christopher Knight and his freak wife- really on TV? you are quit possible the most dysfunctional two people I have seen in a long time. *Surreal Life-you are all has been or reality TV winners you need to move on or find an honest way to get back on the screen or radio getting drunk and peeing in corners is not the way to do it. Time for reality to hit these people square in the head and wake them up, as for those people who watch it, really is that how you want to spend your day? Heres a tip go out side, get some air it is better for you then numbing your brain with garbage TV and if you want to see crazy people doing crazy Sh!t on PPV is Jerry you can watch average low lifes do even dumber cr@p then anything you will see a celeb do. One last thing, when did TV turn into this garbage and where will it stop because frankly I am so tired of seeing celebs fail, have brake downs, burn out and blow up. Time for some people to just fade away and for other people to leave them gone.

id like to put my two cents in here because one ive been gone for a while and two i think that some of these shows can actually help people. My oldest brother, an alchoholic, watches the Dr. Drew show and has gotten a kick in the butt from it lately by seeing how real it can be for even "celebreties" to go through things like this and how it CAN kill someone to just have to come down off something as simple as drinking. I'm not saying that they may not be doing it for other reasons such as trying to boost their carriers and such don't get me wrong each one of them probably in one way or another knows it probably will to a point. But to know they are willing to put their lives out in the open like this and let it be taped? That takes guts in my book...agreed some of these other ones are a bit too far like the "find love" and junk for some of them. I mean really how are you gonna find love with 30 women all over you at the same time? Common sense people. But I do think some of these shows might be able to give others that might be thinking about getting help themselves a peer into how it really is to go through rehab and such. As far as the writers strike I also agree with that and think that it could be a good factor in what is going on also and think things will go back to "normal" if you can call it that once things get back under control. (so to say). Just my two cents. Peace Out ~*~J_Dawgs~*~

Hey J_dawgs, sorry it has taken me so long to respond to you. I can see your point and if they are doing this to inspire people to get help that is great. I can see how a few of them are doing it to help others but the problem is I didn't see that in them. I saw people looking to keep their faces on t.v. and in our minds. Which they have done by us talking about them here. I am sorry to here about your brother and I and I hope he will get help or if he is getting help then I hope he stays with it. As far as other reality shows I get think it is getting stupid and once the writers strike is over I hope they start dropping off. I keep forgetting about the strike.

they were going to do the rehab show with average people, but drew thought it would be too invasive since the average person isn't used to the cameras and the publicity. instead, the decided to use 'celebrities' so showcase the propblem with addiction. a lot more 'reality' shows are coming on the air with the writers strike. as soon as that mess is over, it will swing back down to fictional shows
