In the Land of the rising sun The Tobacco Institute of Japan has started accepting applications for taspo age-verification cards to be used at cigarette-vending machines starting in March. Vending machines with the age verification unction will be phased in from March to July, and smokers will have to use the IC card to purchase cigarettes.
