Medical Transcription/coding/billing  

Yes I have done the online schooling and there is legit companies online that I have worked for most don't advertise except thru their coders talking about their job to others. It is a great profession and one that can be done at home. If you want you can PM me and I can tell you more about this as I am not allowed to say to much in a open forum due to my contract and as a independant contractor company information has to be done confindential (sp?). It's hard to find jobs working as a medical transcriptionist (especially from home) because for one, everyone is doing it these days, and two, they'll send you tapes through the computer and they are VERY dificult to hear. But I'm in school for med. coding and even though it's more difficult than transcription, they say the job opportunities are endless because not everybody can finish the course and coders are in high demand. If you try hotjobs.com you'll see plenty of listings for work at home coders, but they won't take you unless you're certified. So that's what I'm working on right now, getting my certification

And read the article there. I know its a separate subject, but a lot of the researching techniques can apply to your search for a legitimate school.

My cousin has done transcription for several years now and she loves it. She works from home and makes pretty good money. She took the training through the company she works for. I think they are also hiring people who have college degrees. If you want to know the company, just send me a message and I'll give you the info.

Medical transcription is a good and challanging career. If you have flare to learn medical terms, you would become a successful MT in matter of months. I can send you some sample voice files of the doctors and some learning materials to you. If you are still interested in MT, message me.
