I Have a Craving for a Cream Cheese Dog....

I was just thinking I had a craving for a Seattle Cream cheese dog- it's usually what you eat late night after drinking in Seattle. It's just as you think a hot dog with cream cheese, grilled onions, some do sauerkraut which I think is gross..the anything else you want to put on it.
I'm a Chicago native and I lived in Seattle for 6 years and I don't miss living there but I really miss the regional food- seafood was phenomenal too. Then when I lived there I missed a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and our hot dogs. Yes I love Weiners! Get your minds outta the gutters!
So my question is have you ever lived somewhere and moved away, then craved the food when you were gone?

I lived in MD for 6 years and I miss the steamed blue crabs and crab pretzels. which are soft pretzels stuffed with crab meat.
Where I live we have sundowners after we go drinking. It is a greasy cheeseburger topped with a fried egg, onions, mustard, ketchup, and chili sauce. I'm a native here and still have yet to eat one. Give me Denny's Grand Slam every time over that mess.

OMG- soft pretzels and crab meat- sounds amazing!
But a cheeseburger with a fried egg sounds like after a party night- it would make you puke..LOL.
Denny's it is...bacon and eggs- with some greasy oniony cheesy hashbrowns- now that's eating!

Hello Skinnychick,
I grew up in Seattle and have lived in the area all of my life. I find that when I'm away on vacation I do miss the seafood. Its good to know that you like some of the weiners in Seattle! I never really cared for them myself that much. lol

Then you'll know what I'm talking about in this next line: After a night of hard partying in Pioneer Square- I bartended the early shift at the J & M cafe and partied way back when after I got off..that hot dog late at night was the best darn thing ever- probably gross sober. But the seafood and The Metropolitan Grill for steak to die for- I miss the most and for those you have to be sober they are just too good...:)

Hot dog with cream cheese? Never heard of that. Never! Lol. The onions sound OK.
